Freedom to Read

School Children were  engaged  in a reading activity that allowed them to select a book of their choice. They were allowed to have their own personal time to read. This was a reading activity organized for children to spend time reading by randomly selecting from a wide collection of books with guidance from volunteers of Readers Bay.

The activity was dubbed ‘freedom to read’. It was aimed at allowing children to have the freedom to make the right choices and accept responsibilities for the choices they make. Founder of Readers Bay Foundation, Irene Boakye-Danquah known in the media space as Obaa Renee, explained that ”young children should be guided to make right choices and also take responsibility for the choices they make”. This she explained will boost their confidence and help them make wise decisions.
